Weekends
So last weekend we (and Bob & Brian) went to 4 air museums! This is a lot of airplanes for me but I had fun snapping pictures and gleaning little bits from the guys. This type of thing is Definitely a thing to do with your spouse... for him, not me. =) But I certainly had fun too! At the 2nd museum we went to, there were no blockades so you could go right up & touch the plane if you wanted. And a B25 outside that we could climb around in! That was way fun. And we took pictures pretending we were driving (flying) the beast or in the nose shooting down the bad guys. Other than the fact that I was spending time with my love, that was the best part of the day. Sometimes you just gotta play!
On Sunday, we met up with Josh to help them finish moving to West Seattle and then spent most of the day with them (Josh & Shenay) as they put their new home together. It was wonderful to get to know them a bit and to play with their sweet baby girl, Violet. She is a cheerful 8 month old beauty that was just recently diagnosed with Retinoblastoma and is beginning treatment this week. In fact, today they are at Childrens so the doctors can put in a port-a-cath and she starts chemo on Thursday & Friday. I am praying for them all!

WIND!!
Ok, So I am kind of laughing at myself because I am pretty sure that NO ONE even knows I have this blog so no one reads it but I am updating anyway...
IT IS SO WINDY TODAY THAT THE DOOR TO THE OFFICE WON'T STAY SHUT!! Oh my. COLD! Things keep blowing around and creating just a bit of chaos here at the desk... I so wish we had a door with a normal handle so it would latch!!
Just had to share that with you, my imaginary friend.

rain rain... sun?
Feels like summer will never come - been wearing winter clothes & boots FOREVER.
BUT this morning, I was awakened an hour before the alarm by not only that rascal woodpecker that LOVEs to attack our metal gutter just above our bedroom window, but also, SUNSHINE! The bird can go. The sun, please please stay!
So, here I sit, at the computer... coffee at hand & sun on the back! Birds tweeting... Its lovely.
Last night after a crazy day at the office, we ran home from work to catch a ferry & meet up with Brooke & Joe at Seattle Cinerama to see "SuckerPunch"... Ok, glad we went & spent time with Brooke & Joe - that part was great! The movie, not so much. LOL. It was a spaz of a movie. trailer for SuckerPunch Really felt like we were missing part 1 or something... but then later we heard that it was a japanese comic book and that made sense... Anyway, weird movie. But awesome company & cool theater.
After the movie, we walked a couple blocks to a little eclectic mexican place and had a late dinner before heading home to crawl into bed. It is SO awesome to have Brooke & Joe in a city so close to us! To be able to meet them for a movie or invite them to dinner! Will have to make many more plans for such adventures!

work
Ok, we have SO MANY crazy patients... This morning, one called about 9:30 and the conversation went like this...
me: 20/20 Eyecare, this is Breeze.
patient: oh, are you open?
me: yes
patient: what time?
me: until 5
patient: what time did you open? 9-5
Ok, why do you need to know what time we opened? Really?! Do you have some magical time machine so you can be ready & at the door at 9?? These are my thoughts... Luckily, I don't often share them to the person on the phone.
Then the one that called and wanted to know why she had gotten a phone call saying that her contacts were in... Hmm... Kind of angrily says that she didn't order any contacts so what's going on... so I go check & remind her that the doc had wanted me to order her a different type of contact to try. "Oh that's right!" Really lady, I am just trying to help... be nice! She came in later & pretended we were best buds. Yeah.
Sometimes I just want to toss that phone right out the window!!
But I do love some parts of my job. Like the days that I get to help with glasses. Its so fun to help people find that perfect frame. And I have been able to order in some really awesome ones. =) The ones from London are pretty much my favorite. We have 2 companies from London now & they're both great! Jai Kudo & William Morris (Jai Kudo blog!) And a 'handmade in Germany' line called "Axel S"
Such fun!
Friday (april fools day) has been nuts. Duane & Tyler working on fixing the door (that has been literally kicking people right out) and then a patient accidentally knocked over the computer hard drive in the exam room causing it to totally quit working! So, we're going old skool and had to tape an old eye chart to the monitor so that it reflected to the mirror for the patient so the doc could check the actual Rx... As long as they can recognize letters backwards (mirror reverses them!) then its all good...
